Born and raised in California, Rene has lived in Venice Beach for the past 25 years.

He started his career designing surfwear at Billabong and Quiksilver in Newport Beach, and after moving to Los Angeles, began styling commercials for major American brands such as Nike, Oreos, Honda, Adidas, Reebok, Speedo, American Express, Toyota, T-Mobile, Union Bank, Nintendo, and clothing brands such as Mackage.

For the past 13 years, he was part of a duo team as the in-house stylist at Extra, styling all talent and their red carpet appearances. He’s recently gotten back into the surf industry, designing his own surf trunks for his brand 1Twenty9.

He currently lives in Malibu and Venice with his wife, three sons, and dog Jefe.
